Lest We Forget
The National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas, near Lichfield, in Staffordshire, England is a national site of remembrance.
The Arboretum honours the fallen and recognises the service and sacrifice and fosters pride in our country.
The idea for the Arboretum was conceived by David Childs in 1988.
He believed that it would form a living tribute to service men and women
for future generations to reflect upon and enjoy.
The Arboretum was officially opened on 16 May 2001. It is aregistered charity and is part of The Royal British Legion family of charities.
This slideshow is my tribute to this wonderful centre of remembrance and to those who have served and sacrificed for the United Kingdom.
It’s a very beautiful place.
